It had been a rollercoaster of a week, that came with the Highest High’s but also the Lowest- botton-of-the-barrel-scraping- Lows… and quite literally. It seems my penchant for stomping around in heels all day, everyday had finally got the better of my clumsy bambi legs, and I’d managed to fall over 3 times in 3 days consecutively. And so, with some very beat up knees and a wildly bruised ego, PLATYPUS SHOES‘ invitation to be part of their ‘Our Sneakers, Your Story’ campaign could NOT have come any sooner. So here is the challenge; to wear nothing but their sneakers for 5 days straight.

Here is a 5 day outfit diary with my sneakers of choice, NEW BALANCE Windbreaker 574′s -available at Platypus Shoes. Fall and ego bruising tally to follow…

It’s day 5! And thankfully Friday… And I am happy to report there was not a single scratch, graze or embarrassing fall all week. Big Thank you to Platypus Shoes for giving me a reason to do this challenge! And to New Balance for making some pretty sweet shoes!! And an even bigger thank you to the darling/generous/talented/friendly photographer, Michelle Tran, for putting up with my week of ‘stunted growth’ insecurities and being there to take my photo everyday. Now let’s all go out and buy more shoes~!!!!

The Everleigh Bar made for the most enticing back drop for the shoot… unfortunately we were all very professional and didn’t succumb to the temptation of drinking cocktails all afternoon!

I had the pleasure of styling the Disney’s latest super teen Bridgit Mendler, of Good Luck Charlie, whilst she was in town filming the video for her upcoming single due out in June. It was a long couple of days, but Bridgit’s contagious energy made it feel like a disco you never want to leave! The Melbourne Metal Collective is in it’s second successful year of operation, and this time with a couple of new additions to the already talented group of local jewellers. Finding ‘Cave’ is as its name suggests, may be a test on the ol’ pace maker, but once you make it up those 6 flights of stairs (at the top floor of Curtain House Building), the treasure at the end of the road is well worth the heart failure.

Henson, Young Hunting, and the always divine Estelle Deve are joined by O.T.T, Alexandra Blak, Hamish Munro and Maripossa.

Opening night was jam packed with free flowing RUM cocktails, talented creative folk and some damn good jewellery. Now lets all go to CAVE and get jewelled up!! Shot gun everything by Estelle Deve!!

Nom*D- Do Not Disturb

Alastair Mc Kimm works his styling, layering magic on Ehren Dorsey (NEXT Models). The latest A/W12 Nom*D campaign, Do Not Disturb has been released. Amy Troost shot the above campaign shots in Central park, before completing the lookbook shots in studio.

Although I assisted on this in late October, I still remember walking into the rack filled NYC studio like it was yesterday. I felt like a kid in a NOM*D themed candy store, as I got to paw over the massive collection (as you can see with the 30 page lookbook) and it took a long day of fittings to figure out which final outfits would make the cut.

All in all though, super excited this is finally out. On my lust list:

Towards the end of the shoot though, is when Ehren’s true professionalism came through. After a whole day of using her pretty, pierced and teen angst persona, it was the final shots where her true modelling talents shined through. I can’t seem to get enough of these Iconic Horror tee’s and Ehren’s -rather underrated- face pulling skills!!
